Giant News

Thanks to a post that went viral concerning the changes for one grocery store, Giant Eagle has met the challenge to do away with their Kids Cookie card and offer a Treat Card, which allows a child one free piece of fresh fruit in the store!  Little changes yield big results!

Sneak Attack

As a parent, and a foods teacher, I realize how difficult it is to get kids to try to eat vegetables, let alone enjoy them.  This recipe is one that I keep in rotation to incorporate dark leafy greens known known for their vitamins and minerals into their diet.  It tastes just like a peanut butter milk shake!

Green Monster Smoothie

2 cups fresh spinach
1 frozen ripe banana
6 oz plain greek yogurt
2 T. Honey, or more to taste
splash vanilla
1/3 cup skim milk
2 T. peanut butter, or more to taste
Ice

Blend and serve!
